Providence Wholistic Healthcare is a comprehensive natural family medicine and acupuncture clinic. We offer a full-range of holistic health services – dietary evaluation, nutritional counseling, Chinese and Western herbal therapies, homeopathic medicine, mind-body counseling, body therapy & acupuncture; holistic health care grounded in the medical science and aimed at correcting imbalances, promoting optimal health & wellness, and preventing disease for each individual.

Sheila M. Frodermann, MS, ND, DHANP, CCH

Naturopathic Physician & Homeopath

Dr. Sheila M. Frodermann is a naturopathic doctor, a board-certified classical homeopath, and a certified associate instructor and practitioner of Bowenwork. She is the founder and director of Providence Wholistic Healthcare, a private naturopathic medical clinic located in Providence, RI and maintains a license to practice naturopathic medicine in her native Connecticut.

Dr. Sheila received her medical training at National College of Naturopathic Medicine, an accredited four-year resident medical school, graduating with honors. She co-designed and piloted her post-doctoral residency in Integrative Family Medicine in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Frodermann received her  master of science in Environmental Studies from Antioch New England Graduate School and her bachelors in biology from Wellesley College.

Dr. Frodermann practices integrative holistic medicine, utilizing the benefits of her western medical training and conventional diagnostics procedures complimented by the exceptional range of naturopathic therapeutics: medicinal food and nutrition, herbs, homeopathy, lifestyle counseling, body therapy. Dr. Sheila offers private consultations, providing individualizing health plans for chronic and acute health issues for people of all ages, at her clinic.

Practicing with compassion and hope for achieving optimal health through natural healing, Dr. Frodermann is committed to guiding the improvement of one’s mind-body health and quality of life. For the greater community, she offers lectures about natural medicine on topics including homeopathy, women’s health, natural home remedies, and immune support.  An Associate Instructor, she enjoys teaching Bowenwork: An Introduction to Wellness in Your Hands.

Dr. Frodermann serves as Treasurer, and is past-President, of the Rhode Island Association of Naturopathic Physicians (RIANP) and is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP). She served as Secretary of the board at Hope Center for Cancer Support, a non-profit cancer support and education organization in Providence, and as a board director of HeartSong, a non-profit medical home in Putney, VT.

Carol L. Seng, MAOM, LAc, DA

Licensed Acupuncturist

Carol L. Seng graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon with a master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  She completed her residency at the Portland Alternative Health Clinic, which offers acupuncture and herb for HIV+ clients and for assistance in addiction recovery. Carol received her bachelor’s in history/political science from Immaculata University.

Carol’s holistic training began at the Kushi Institute in Brookline, MA.  She studied macrobiotic philosophy and cooking.  Over a span of two decades she has worked at various organizations educating people on the benefits of eating a whole foods diet, using nutritional supplements, and the importance of supporting sustainable agriculture.

Carol continued her post-graduate studies in Chinese medicine with Lonny Jarrett, LAc, in Clinical Integration, a four-year program with a focus on Chinese pulse diagnosis. Carol went on to further her education with a two-year Chinese Herbal program under the tutelage of Sharon Weizenbaum, LAc, a renowned Chinese medicine herbalist and scholar. Most recently, Carol had the privilege to study under Kiiko Matsumoto, Japanese Master Acupuncturist.

Carol practices meditation and believes in the importance of cultivating balance and awareness in all aspects of the human condition – physical, mental, spiritual.
